Early Summer 2015 we found our beloved Ginger, our English Mastiff woke up one morning… completely blind.
It was unbearably heartbreaking to watch such a large majestic beast be in total terror.
I was able to calm her and for the next 30 days I slept downstairs on a couch to be near her at all times while she acclimated to her new life. I became her ever present human verbally cueing her to obstacles and guiding her as she learned to live as a blind dog.
Fast forward almost a whole year later and Ginger has been doing WONDERFUL – even blind– with all she has had to change and adapt to she has faced her life with joy and trust in her humans, and well..mostly me- Jade. I have been her primary person and in such I have recently been teased by my family as being Ginger’s ” Seeing Eye Human© ” and working for the dog.
I completely agree!
I officially celebrate my new role as a SEEING EYE HUMAN© and invite other humans, who are working for their blind dogs to join in and visit “ SEEING EYE HUMANS© ” our Cafepress shop selling our trademarked T-Shirts, Sweatshirts for both men and women alongside other gift items celebrating the blind dogs in our lives by introducing levity in how we see ourselves in relation to our blind dogs!
